I’ve been to Japan 3 times in the past 4 years. Love it. When I arrived in Tokyo I had no idea why I hadn’t been there before. What was I doing in Europe for so long? Why do Americans always go to Europe when they have a perfectly sophisticated friend just to the East? Sure, I highly recommend traveling around the rest of Asia, but for those Americans who want abroad, but clean, this is the place. I did meet a college student from Chicago who went to Japan for his first time ever abroad, and I met a fabulous Finn who didn’t even bring a camera. That’s what you get in Japan. A better kind of tourist.
